Chaparral with Yucca, Zinc, Vitamin C & Alfalfa
#201 – 90 tabs #202 – 180 tabs
Chaparral is a shrub that is indigenous to the southwestern U.S. and parts of Mexico. It has been used to treat a variety of bowel, lung and skin conditions and studied for its impact on viral-based disorders. One of the main active components of chaparral is NDGA (nordihydroguaiaretic acid), and chaparral also contains lignans that add to its healing properties as well. Chaparral’s extremely bitter taste prevents animals from grazing upon it and it does not burn easily. It is regarded as one of the most adaptable of all the United States desert plants as it grows in depleted soil and can survive for long periods of time without rainfall. It was one of the first plants to grow back after the 1962 nuclear bomb test at Yucca Flats. The Native Americans used chaparral to cure a variety of ailments from arthritis to the common cold and for its analgesic, expectorant, and anti-inflammatory properties.   Yucca Root (Yucca schidgera) is also native to the American southwest and contains an active compound called steroidal saponin. This compound may help reduce the stiffness, pain and swelling resulting from conditions such as arthritis, rheumatism, bursitis, and gout. The saponins in yucca roots could also prove to be beneficial to colon health because studies have shown them to bind with harmful bile acids in the colon. In a study done at the University of Toronto, mice fed saponins were shown to have fewer developing tumors in their colons than those who were not fed the compound.   Zinc is involved in numerous aspects of cellular metabolism. It is required for the catalytic activity of approximately 100 enzymes and it plays a role in immune function, protein synthesis, wound healing, DNA synthesis, and cell division. Zinc also supports normal growth and development during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence and is required for proper sense of taste and smell. A daily intake of zinc is required to maintain a steady state because the body has no specialized zinc storage system.   Alfalfa is used for kidney conditions, bladder and prostate conditions, joint discomfort and to increase urine flow. Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) is an essential nutrient for humans and strengthens the immune system and also promotes joint lubrication. It is also vital for humans since the body does not naturally produce any on its own.   Seek advice from a health practitioner before use if you have had, or may have had liver disease. Discontinue use if nausea, fever, fatigue or jaundice occurs.

Chelation Therapy is a process in which a substance is used to bind molecules, such as metals or minerals, and hold them tightly so that they can be removed from the body. Chelation has been scientifically proven to rid the body of excess or toxic metals. For example, a person who has lead poisoning may be given chelation therapy in order to bind and remove lead from the body before it can cause damage.
With EDTA chelation therapy, the substance that binds and removes metals and minerals is EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid), a synthetic amino acid that is often delivered intravenously. EDTA was first used shortly after WWII for the treatment of heavy metal poisoning. Calcium disodium EDTA chelation removes heavy metals and minerals from the blood, such as lead, iron, copper, and calcium, and is approved by the FDA for use in treating lead poisoning and toxicity from other heavy metals. Although disodium EDTA it is not approved by the FDA to treat coronary heart disease (CHD), some physicians and alternative medicine practitioners have recommended its use in chelation as a way to treat CHD.
A couple easy steps will help ensure you get the full impact of EDTA.
- EDTA is most effective when taken on an empty stomach. This is because EDTA will begin binding to the first minerals it comes in contact with, so keeping it away from minerals in your stomach during absorption will help save the EDTA molecule’s effectiveness for where you want it (the bloodstream).
- Follow recommended dosage (2 caps twice per day) and supplement with a daily multivitamin and mineral supplement. (Take separately from EDTA). A mineral-rich one-a-day will help replenish natural and healthy mineral levels that may get slightly depleted with regular EDTA use.
- Cycle on and off EDTA. We recommend 6 weeks on followed by 2 weeks off. This is for the same reason we recommend a multivitamin and mineral supplement, 2 weeks off after prolonged regular use will allow your body time to naturally resupply itself with the proper mineral levels that may become depleted by EDTA.
CaNa2 EDTA (Calcium disodium ethylenediamenetetraacetic acid) is the most common form of EDTA used in chelation therapy and the one with the history of safe and effective use. There are a couple other compounds commonly referred to as EDTA, so when it comes to chelation therapy, make sure it’s Calcium disodium EDTA.
