Yucca Root (Yucca schidigera) has been used for stomach, joint and blood disorders as teas, capsules and ointments because of its powerful saponins. Some people apply yucca directly to the skin for sores, skin diseases, bleeding, sprains, joint pain, baldness, and dandruff. Yucca is a tree native to the southwest and Sonoran Desert and the root has been used in medicines for centuries by Native Americans.
Yucca contains an active compound called steroidal saponin which has been shown to reduce stiffness, pain and swelling. The saponins in yucca roots could also prove to be beneficial to colon health because studies have shown them to bind with harmful bile acids in the colon. In a study done at the University of Toronto, mice fed saponins were shown to have fewer developing tumors in their colons than those who were not fed the compound.

A couple easy steps will help ensure you get the full impact of EDTA.
- EDTA is most effective when taken on an empty stomach. This is because EDTA will begin binding to the first minerals it comes in contact with, so keeping it away from minerals in your stomach during absorption will help save the EDTA molecule’s effectiveness for where you want it (the bloodstream).
- Follow recommended dosage (2 caps twice per day) and supplement with a daily multivitamin and mineral supplement. (Take separately from EDTA). A mineral-rich one-a-day will help replenish natural and healthy mineral levels that may get slightly depleted with regular EDTA use.
- Cycle on and off EDTA. We recommend 6 weeks on followed by 2 weeks off. This is for the same reason we recommend a multivitamin and mineral supplement, 2 weeks off after prolonged regular use will allow your body time to naturally resupply itself with the proper mineral levels that may become depleted by EDTA.
